Usumbaran Orange Baboon
(Pterinochilus murinus)
Type: Old World Semi-arboreal / Burrower
Other Common Names: Mombasa Golden Starburst, Orange Baboon, Orange Bitey Thing *OBT*
Care Difficulty: Easy
Size: Roughly around 4-5" in legspan.
Growth speed: Relatively fast.
Temperament: Very defensive/aggressive and FAST. Their venom is quite potent as well.
Temperature: 75-80 degrees F
Humidity: They like it dry, so I'd say about 50-60%.
Substrate: At least 5" of dry substrate.
Enclosure: Spiderlings should be housed in small, but appropriate size containers. Juveniles can be housed in small-medium sized critter keepers. Large adults may be housed in up to 10 gallon terrariums. Provide a suitable hide, such as cork bark, and a nice water dish.
